Permalinks for Searches

Instructions on how to save permalinks/persistent links for searches.

PubMed Perma/Persistent Links for Searches

  • Do your search in PubMed (note: click on the "Free full text" link under "Text availability").
  • Copy the URL in the search box at the top of the page.

EbscoHost Perma/Persistent Links for a Search

To copy a persistent link to a search:

Click the Share button at the top of your Result List.

Highlight the link text in the Permalink box and copy using your browser's copy function. You can immediately paste the link into a web site, document or e-mail.

To save a persistent link to a search to the folder:

Log in to EBSCOhost and conduct your search.

A Result List appears.

Click the Share link to the left of the Result List.

Click the Add search to folder link. The search query is now saved in the folder as a persistent link to a search.

To retrieve the persistent link to your search for your folder:

Click the View Folder link at the top of the EBSCOhost page, or the Folder has items link above the Results List.

Click on the Persistent Links to Searches link in the left column to view all persistent links to your saved searches.

Note: If you are not signed into your MyEBSCO Folder, any contents added to the folder will be deleted when your session is closed.

To save your persistent links to searches from the folder:

From the Persistent Links to Searches area of the folder, mark the check boxes of items you wish to save and click the Save icon on the right. The Links to Searches area of the Save Manager displays.

If you are in the folder, Remove these items from folder after saving appears. Indicate whether you want to empty the folder of all items after saving.

Click Save; otherwise, click Back from your browser menu, click File>Save As. Enter the path where the file should be saved (for example, C:ProjectResearchInfo).

To save to disk, enter the path to the drive (for example, A:ResearchInfo). Be sure to save as an HTML or text file.
