New Faculty Orientation: Scheduling Instruction

Library and Research Skills Instruction

What is Information Literacy?

Information Literacy is the library term for the set of skills needed to find, retrieve, analyze, and use information.

We have set benchmarks as guidelines to what Muskingum students should be able to do each year.

Benchmarks are meant to reflect both our goals and the reality of what we see from students at Muskingum, both in the in-classroom instruction we do and in the work we do with researchers at the reference desk.

For more information on this, visit our guide that lists our information literacy goals and benchmarks for Muskingum students by year.

Schedule Library Instruction Sessions

Library instruction is essential to your students' success. Students who know how to use databases and other library resources return better work. Schedule your class's library instruction and get ready to improve the quality of your students' work.

You can schedule library instruction by visiting the "faculty services" section of the library's website and filling out a library instruction request form. The more information you provide us the better. We can tailor your sessions to specific assignments and create course guides as well.
